Darren Fletcher is a player high on confidence. And with a Champions League quarter final berth booked, and Arsenal’s Premier League lead cut down to a solitary point, Fletcher and United turn to the FA Cup in high spirits.

Portsmouth visit Old Trafford on Saturday, and Fletcher admits he and his team-mates are set on prolonging United’s participation in all three competitions.

“People ask you which trophy you want, but we want them all,” Fletch told Red View. “Our goal is to win all three and we’re not picking one out as more important. We’ve got to win every match, and we’ve got a squad where it’s a reality that we can win all three. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, because it’s clearly tough to do. But we’ve definitely got the squad and the ability to rotate to challenge on all fronts.”

Once again, Fletcher has shown himself to be the man for the big occasion with his recent displays against Arsenal and Lyon, and the Scottish midfielder hopes there are plenty more huge matches to come this term.

“This is the nitty-gritty stage of the season now, and this is where you want to be involved in big games,” he said. “We’ve still got to play Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in the league, and there are hopefully more big cup games to come.

“We have got massive games every single week now, and this is the stage of the campaign that makes or breaks your season. We are quietly confident because we know we’ve got the squad and the ability.”
